I was given the unique opportunity to do a wall mural, in PLATFORM Coworking + Event Space in Hong Kong. And just for fun, I created wall(s) made entirely of details, done in black felt tip pen.
As I was working, I only had a small idea of what the overall finished walls would look like; I was mostly interested in giving each trajectory of drawing its own path, curious to find out where they would lead me. I loved creating in this haphazard, seemingly unorganized fashion – it’s so entirely different than designing something on the computer, and I loved the freedom in letting the work speak to me as it was unfolding itself. Overall, the whole piece really reminded me of music, and of a city of people in their different paths and strata of wealth and influence and being, so I gave it the title ‘Symphony of Hong Kong.’
